The campaign "e-Skills Week" successfully implemented in Serbia
Serbian citizens had the opportunity, during the campaign of the European Commission's "e-Skills Week", ended by the end of March 2012. to take free testing for European certifications GCL - Global Commerce Licence (European Economic Chamber) and ECDL - European Computer Driving Licence (European Council for ICT). The interest of our citizens for these important certifications were far above expected.
During the campaign over 11,000 tests was conducted for the acquisition of GCL certificate, which is far more than was expected and indicates the willingness of our citizens toward the European standardization in business education. Total of 443 candidates from Serbia gained the GCL certificate as verification of the basic business, economic and commercial knowledge and the 994 candidates have passed at least one of the four GCL modules.
IT education has not yet been the focus of our citizens to the extent that it should be. About 1,300 examinations were held for gaining the ECDL certificate. 60 candidates acquired ECDL certificate, while 89 candidates have passed at least one module.
